YAGOONA
Yagoona is an established residential area with commercial areas around the railway station. Yagoona is bounded by Buist Street, Rose Street, Ferrier Road, Brunker Road and Graf Avenue in the north, Rookwood Road in the east, the Hume Highway, Brancourt Avenue, Glasop Street, Cantrell Street and Marion Street in the south and Suncroft Avenue, Clarke Street, Horton Street and Australia Street in the west. Yagoona is named from an Aboriginal word meaning "now" or "today". It was originally known as Irish Town.
Major features of the area include Potts Park (Greyhound Track), Middleton Park, O’Neill Park, Birrong Reservoir and two schools.
