MINTO
Minto is a residential and industrial area, with some rural land in the east. Minto is bounded by the transmission line in the north, the locality of Minto Heights in the east, Westmoreland Road, Pembroke Road and Rose Payten Drive in the south, and Campbelltown Road and Bow Bowing Creek in the west. Minto was named by the NSW or ‘Rum' Corps after the Earl of Minto, then Viceroy of India.
Major features of the area include Minto Mall, the Minto Industrial Area, Kayess Park Touch Football Complex, Victoria Park Hockey Fields, Coronation Park, Kyngmount Park, Passfield Park, Pembroke Park, Redfern Park, Townson Oval and a number of schools.
