YENNORA
Yennora is an established residential and industrial area, with industry generally located in the south, and commercial areas near the railway station. Yennora is bounded by Albert Street, Fowler Road and Hawksview Street in the north, the railway line in the east, Prospect Creek in the south and Foray Street, Fairfield Road, Dennistoun Avenue, Fowler Road, the water supply pipeline, Bowden Street and Frank Street in the west. Parts of the suburbs of Guildford and Yennora are located in Parramatta City and Fairfield City respectively. Guildford is named after the Earl of Guildford. Yennora is named from an Aboriginal word meaning “to stroll”.
Major features of the area include Holroyd Private Hospital, Linwood House, Guildford Swimming Centre, Guildford Leagues Club, McCredie Park, Sydney Wool Centre and a number of schools.
