WETHERILL PARK
Wetherill Park is an established residential, industrial and parkland area, with some small commercial areas. Wetherill Park is bounded by the Prospect Reservoir, the Blacktown City boundary and Prospect Creek in the north, Hassall Street, Victoria Street and Wetherill Street in the east, Polding Street, the Liverpool-Parramatta Transitway and The Horsley Drive in the south, and the Water Supply Channel in the west. Wetherill Park is named after Mr Wetherill, a businessman who offered 21 acres of his property to the State Government as a park.
Major features of the area include Greenway Plaza, Market Town Shopping Centre, TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute (Wetherill Park College), Wetherill Park Industrial Area, Prospect Water Filtration Plant, Davis Road Recycling & Waste Transfer Station, Prospect Dam Wall, Emerson Street Reserve, Walder Park, Wetherill Park Reserve and one school.
