SMITHFIELD

Smithfield is an established residential and industrial area, with some commercial areas. Smithfield is bounded by Prospect Creek in the north, Granville Street, Solo Crescent and Granville Street in the east, Polding Street in the south, and Wetherill Street, Victoria Street and Hassall Street in the west. Part of the suburb of Smithfield is located in Holroyd City. Smithfield is named after the meat markets of London and Dublin. Smithfield was originally known as Chisholm's Bush.
