Silverwater is a residential, industrial and institutional area. Silverwater is bounded by the Parramatta River in the north, Jamieson Street, Holker Street, the industrial area, Carnarvon Street and Henricks Avenue in the east, the Western Motorway in the south and the Duck River in the west. Silverwater is thought to be named for the silver of the morning light reflected on the water of Parramatta River.
