RIVERWOOD

Riverwood is an established residential area, with commercial areas along Belmore Road and substantial parklands in the west. Riverwood is bounded by Canterbury City, Killara Avenue, Josephine Street, Bonds Road and Broad Arrow Road in the north, Baumans Road and Bungalow Road in the east, Talbot Street, Hedley Street and Amy Road in the south and Salt Pan Creek in the west. Part of the suburb of Riverwood is located in Canterbury City. Riverwood is thought to be named after a small arm of the Salt Pan Creek. It was previously known as Herne Bay.

Major features of the area include Riverwood Park, Riverwood Plaza and one school.
